The 26-year-old sister of supermodel Kate Moss, Lottie Moss, took to social media on January 15 with an unexpected confession. Through tears, she told fans about her anxious state of health.

I don't even know where to start. I think it's very important to talk about these things. I really want to be more open and I think it's important for people to see that my life isn't as shiny and bright as it is on social media.

Lottie continued that in her youth she struggled persistently with depression and anxiety, as well as “addiction issues.”

Having become a model and working in this industry, I found it very difficult to deal with anxiety and just not give in to illegal substances, alcohol and the like when I was sad. And I developed a habit of doing this for the rest of my life, until now.

Lottie followed in her supermodel sister's footsteps by becoming the face of a special Calvin Klein capsule collection when she was 16 in 2014. In 2018, she first appeared on the cover of French Vogue. “I got to the point where I don’t like everything around me, and I don’t know who I am,” Moss openly shared her experiences. “Navigating your damn 20s sucks because you don’t even know what you’re supposed to do, who you’re supposed to be friends with.” Sometimes you become someone you don't like, don't know, or don't recognize. And it seems to me that today I have reached the point where I simply don’t know who I am.

The model admitted that after she got a face tattoo and opened her account on a popular nude photo site, she wondered if this was something she wanted to do or if she was simply rebelling against the modeling industry.

I think I rebelled so much against the industry that was making me sad at the time because I was so sad. And then I thought: “Who the hell am I?”

Lottie continued that she felt very lonely because she had isolated herself from the people who cared about her. Although she mentioned that she should be grateful for some positive aspects of her life, she does not feel happy. The model added that she has been sober for four days and believes that an important part of her recovery is being able to post on social media and keep herself “in control”, otherwise she could “go off the rails.” Lottie concluded by saying that her sister gave her many things and that modeling has given her many opportunities. Kate Moss recently celebrated her 50th birthday on a private island: the stargave up booze and gathered her closest friends for a spiritual retreat.
