Lily-Rose Depp's Met Gala dress is up for auction - and the price will surprise you

Various items belonging to celebrities are often put up at auctions - this practice has become common especially in the last few years. However, most often the belongings of stars who have already passed away are involved. In addition, they are usually bought only if they have real historical value - which is why the demand for Princess Diana’s things does not subside.

However, the other day it became known that the Lily-Rose Depp's dress, which she wore to the Met Gala 2019 was also auctioned. Let us remember that then the actress chose a rather laconic black Chanel dress, decorated with gold chains and precious stones. Lily-Rose wasn't the only one to wear a black maxi. It was also worn by another Karl Lagerfeld muse, Penelope Cruz. She wore this dress in Pedro Almodovar's Broken Embraces in 2009.

The dress was initially expected to cost $13,000. But in the end it was sold for 82.5 thousand dollars - this is quite a high price for such an outfit.

By the way, at the auction, which took place in Paris, a huge number of works of art from Karl Lagerfeld were presented - he designed clothes from 1990 to 2014. Many of these items belonged to French entrepreneur and socialite Mouna Ayoub. The most expensive item was the Coromandel coat from the 1996 collection. This piece features extremely intricate embroidery and took over 800 hours to create.
